Summer Writing Workshop
The goal of our writing workshops is to support rising 4th-8th grade students in becoming confident and comfortable with their writing through interactive writing lessons, exercises, and mentoring. We hope to give students more exposure to different writing styles, help them establish a strong foundation in writing, and nurture a positive attitude towards learning within them.

Session 1: Creative Writing/Personal Essays
Monday July 6th - Friday July 10th
2:00-3:30 pm

Our writing workshop will expose students to the different elements of creative writing and support them as they become authors. Students will learn about the components that make up great stories, and they will also write their own cohesive and exciting stories. We will also dapple in personal essay-writing where they will learn how to express their personal experiences and growth in moving works of fiction. This workshop is a great opportunity for students to explore their creativity and imagination.
Session 2: Persuasive Writing
Monday July 13th - Friday July 17th
2:00-3:30 pm
Our writing workshop will break down the pieces of persuasive writing into small, bite sized pieces to help students gain a deeper understanding of persuasion. Through examples, interactive lessons, and writing exercises, students will learn how to choose evidence, write compelling arguments, and create convincing thesis statements comfortably and confidently for any topic.
